Example: Heck C-C Coupling using a Monolithic Nanoparticular Pd[0] PACT Reactor Cartridge
This Application Note illustrates how the R-2 pump/injector and R-4 flow reactor modules can be used in combination with reactor columns to perform Polymer Assisted Continuous flow-Through (PACT) chemistry.
In this example, a series of Heck C-C coupling reactions are effected using a monolithic polystyrene reactor column derivatised with nanoparticular Pd(0). An in-line scavenging column packed with beaded PS-thiourea removes any palladium contaminants that may ‘leach’ into the outflow stream, thereby delivering products with good intrinsic purities.
